Itinerary - till end 2012

Hi all, this update is to let you know the itinerary I have for the remainder of 2012. It's a packed full schedule.

October 20: flight to Bangkok and meet up with David, Leslie and their 2 kids
October 22: 5:55am train with the Rules to the Cambodian border and taxi to Seam Reap (Angkor Wat)
October 22 - 27: in Seam Reap
October 27: travel back to Bangkok
October 28: flight to Hong Kong
October 28 - November 6: in Hong Kong
November 6: flight to Phuket
November 15: flight to Kuala Lumpur and meet up with Tony and Mick for drive to Port Klang
November 16 - 25: Raja Muda Sailing Regatta (Port Klang to Pangkor to Penang to Langkawi)
November 26: approximate - sail / deliver the yacht Freewind from Langkawi to Phuket
December 1 - 8: King's Cup Sailing Regatta in Phuket
December 11: flight to Bangkok to meet up with Mom who arrives late that evening, overnight and return to Phuket the next day

And that's it for 2012 with Christmas in Phuket with Mom and my friends.

Day 3: Island and Beach Tour Note: I’ll add PHOTOS later : my editor on the iPhone is just too different (I’ll post photos instead only on Facebook for now) Peter Tours picked us up for a round the island and beach tour. We were first in the 20 seater bus but collecting others filled it. The Guide & Driver were both named Irwin... The tour was a running commentary on Curaçao and some of its highlights and lowlights. Among the statistics there are an estimated 250,000 illegal immigrants from Venezuela here escaping that country by any means possible. That number is huge when you consider that legal residents only account for around 175,000. In the mix of legal residents there are people of 52 different nationalities.  Our tour covered most of the length of the island. Starting from our hotel heading south and east as we collected other passengers. Along the way we crossed over one of the higher bridges of Willemstad with views over it and Otrobanda. 2016 Road Trip: Saint Pierre et Miquelon

A whole slew of school kids were exiting the arriving ferry… things would be slow to get us underway. Scheduled departure from Fortune Newfoundland to Saint Pierre was 15:00. We actually set off at 15:30. Then there is a time difference - so close but still another 1/2 hour…. The crossing was choppy, foggy, and chilly. The arrival … the same!  The Tourist Information Centre was closed but one of the Ferry staff spotted us and assisted in selecting an hotel for the evening. Our digs for the evening, Hotel Robert, was drab on the outside but had a great room for us to stay with a bathroom almost the size of our RV. From check in it was out to explore a bit of the town under overcast skies and slight drizzle. We then checked out the top two restaurants - they were both booked solid for the evening (the gal at Le Feu de Braise was welcoming and apologetic that she could not seat us, the guy at L’Atelier Gourmand was haughty and rude and could care less  as he turned us away).  Nex

New Brunswick adventure

Hopewell Rocks Had an early start on May 31 to drive to Shediac, New Brunswick, with sun filled skies the entire journey. Would be a 4 hour drive but I took a diversion to go and see Hopewell Rocks which was a 1.6 hour diversion. Tide was high but that made the formations more interesting for me. Still at some point it would be great to see the mudflats at low tide and to see the tidal bore as the tide roars in. And if I ever get a chance to be there mid July to mid August I hear that the flocks of migrating seabirds are quite the spectacle. Pointe du Chêne, Shediac I arrived at 4:30pm at the beachside home of Joan and Don Martell. We had a lot of catching up to do as it had been years since we had last visited. Don gave me the tour of the tourist towns of Pointe du Chêne (and it's lovely sand beach - Parlee Beach) and Shediac. Not a large community but everything is convenient to get to and all fronted by an amazing beach. Next day I headed for the village of Bouctouche
