Alberta: golf & camping & 2 High School Grads

Finally updating the blog for the period that I have been in Canada (so far)!

I flew into Calgary on June 12 and spent the first week at his home. We had a corporate party (New Orlean's style) that first evening so the pace was set... Golfed with Cole and Carmen and had a pretty good round with rental clubs.

Then we drove up to Whitecourt where I stayed with Neil, Gayle and Abby - both at their home and camping on the Mcleod River. I headed out again for a round of golf here (with Ivan, Neil and Mark) and had my best score ever - 107 (not great but finally within a normal "handicap" range).

It has been great meeting everyone here with the highlight being the high school graduations of my nephews Luke and Tylor. Luke graduated with honours with several MVP Athletic awards and Top Male Athlete. Tylor graduated with honours with distinction and several academic awards including 2nd Overall Academic and was class valedictorian. Wonderful graduation ceremony and even better family and friends gathering afterwards.

Another highlight was the time camping at the Mcleod River. Lots of great people there that all get together for fun, talk, drinks, food, river boat trips, "quad"ing.... And to top things off a pretty spectacular fireworks display on Canada Day.

So now it is time to move on... Mom and I both fly out to Nova Scotia - departing Edmonton tonight just after midnight and arriving in Halifax around noon. Ivan and three of his kids will join us later that same day. Next post from Cape Breton.
